Introducing the Artists…

A few weeks ago we began the process of slowly releasing the names of some of the artists included in the book. For a while we only had 9 of the included artists posted on the ‘Painters’ section of the website at  (www.100paintersoftomorrow.com). We recently began adding more artists to this section in order to help provide a more comprehensive picture of the artists and work included in the book.

Some statistics…

It has been mentioned on a few occasions that we were thrilled to have received over 4,300 submissions from over 105 different countries – over half the world! The 100 artists included in the book represent 37 different countries with a breakdown of 53 males to 47 females, which really excites us. There was never any discussion about the need for an equal (or near equal) balance between men and women – it was always about the merit ...

The book has a cover!

I am so pleased with the illustrations we chose to dawn the front and rear of the book – both the sleeve as well as the case. For the front sleeve of the book we selected a painting by  Andre Hemer of New Zealand, entitled, ‘New Smart Object No.64′. The rear of the sleeve is occupied by a painting by Norwegian Tonje Moe, entitled, ‘Freedom in a Box’.
