Production continues apace for 100 Painters of Tomorrow! We went behind the scenes to take some snapshots of the book-making process as Commissioning Editor Jacky Klein and Production Controller Ginny Liggitt began to look closely over first proofs. At Thames & Hudson’s London office they spent the morning reviewing colour proofs against digital files, marking up those that needed improving or adjusting, and seeing how the pages of the book are starting to come to life. ‘It’s exciting to see these images appearing at last on the physical page’, says Jacky. ‘For so long Kurt, I and the other jurors have lived with these paintings on our computer screens or seen the artists’ works only as jpegs, so to have them proofed and starting to be colour-checked and perfected for publication is a hugely thrilling moment.’ Watch this space for more updates as the text and images start to come together later this spring…
