Some statistics…

It has been mentioned on a few occasions that we were thrilled to have received over 4,300 submissions from over 105 different countries – over half the world! The 100 artists included in the book represent 37 different countries with a breakdown of 53 males to 47 females, which really excites us. There was never any discussion about the need for an equal (or near equal) balance between men and women – it was always about the merit of the work first and foremost – however, once the adjudication process ended and jurors made their respective (blind) selections this is how things turned out.

I am so proud that ‘100 Painters of Tomorrow’ encompasses this men to women ratio and I firmly believe that this proves, yet again, that painting is as strong today as it has ever been – continually surprising across genders and beyond territories.
